Jamaica aims to develop Soca Carnival

Jamaica, a country known predominantly for it’s Reggae/Dancehall scene, is now ramping up to be the next hotspot for carnival.  In a story in The Gleaner, we learn that promoters of I LOVE SOCA ‘Soca Bliss’ event, April 11, 2012 want to see carnival season in Jamaica gain widespread appeal not  just nation-wide, but throughout the Caribbean and beyond.

Promoter, Andrew Bellamy, says “Carnival in Jamaica has been on a journey. It has come a very far way, however, it’s time for us to play our part in taking it up a few notches by providing quality entertainment at an affordable price, which we’ve been doing through the I LOVE SOCA movement.”
