Calypsonian, the Mighty Shadow, has been hospitalised.
The 74-year-old has been at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex where he is being treated for an undisclosed illness.
CEO of the NCRHS Kumar Boodram confirmed that the singer whose real name is Winston Bailey has been at the institution for the last two days.
While Boodram could not divulge details of the veteran calypsonian’s illness, he says he is receiving good care and will undergo a series of tests.
The Mighty Shadow copped the calypso monarch crown in the year 2000.
He’s a road march king and won the International Soca Monarch in 2001 with his hit “Stranger”.
