Those who expected to see Hollis Mapp, aka Mr. Killa, defend his crown this year at International Soca Monarch, will be disappointed to learn that the energetic Grenadian has bowed out of the competition.
Those close to him have cited a lack of communication between the organizing committee for the competition to his management team as the main reason the soca star was forced to step down. “Mr. Killa was looking forward to performing here in Trinidad once again, but after seeking out clarification of rules and trying to get reasonable information on performance guidelines, he hasn’t received any information. Unfortunately, the fans and the show itself, which garners worldwide attention, will have to suffer because of the inadequacy of ISM’s new board members to relay information in a reasonable and timely fashion,” said one source.
