Fya Empress is St. Vincent's leading female soca voice, a Ragga Soca Monarch and Calypso Monarch who carried Vincy soca onto the stage in Trinidad and Tobago. Her 2012 hit “Rum Please” won the Vincy Mas Road March and took her to the finals of the International Soca Monarch in Trinidad and Tobago, where she competed in the Power Soca final against the region's biggest names. She went on to perform with the Roy Cape All Stars and Blaxx for Trinidad and Tobago Carnival 2014, and later won the Vincy Mas Calypso Monarch title in 2023. Her high-energy ragga soca style and commanding stage presence have made her a fixture at carnivals across the Caribbean, Europe, and North America. She represents the generation of Vincentian women who headline fetes rather than open them.
