Leadpipe and Saddis are the Bajan duo who took soca in a more melodic, expansive direction, after first becoming household names as the comedy characters Porgie & Murda in homemade web videos. Working behind the scenes as songwriters, musicians, and producers, they broke through as recording artists with the Porgie & Murda hit “Condense,” then scored as themselves with “Ben Up” and the 2014 smash “Ah Feeling.” “Ah Feeling” won both of Barbados' Road March awards, Tune of De Crop and Jam Tune, and was hailed as one of the best soca tracks of its year from any island. They have also written songs for other stars, including Patrice Roberts and Denise Belfon, and were named Songwriters of the Season in Barbados. Their story is a modern one: internet comedy fame converted into serious, durable soca craft.
